About the Business Diploma Program

With a focus on North American business practices, our Business Diploma – Marketing Specialization prepares you for careers in the global economy. Under the guidance of working industry professionals, you will practice and apply traditional and digital marketing concepts using real-world tools. You will develop a strong foundation in advertising, business communication (written and verbal), digital marketing, sales and customer service, and event management. Additionally, the program will strengthen your interpersonal skills to help you integrate seamlessly into a diverse workplace. In a collaborative and safe environment, you will gain the confidence to take creative risks and push your imagination.

By the end of this program, you will develop an impressive portfolio showcasing the work you produced, an ability to self-promote and be fully prepared to take the next step to build your dream career.

You will have the option to add a 22-week paid co-op to your program.

Admission Requirements

Pre-requisites:

  • Grade 12 graduation or mature student status
  • Successful completion of a Grade 11-level English course or higher, or the following in lieu:
    • IELTS General or Academic: Overall band score of 6.0, with no component less than 5.5
    • CLBPT: Overall score of 7, with no component less than 6
    • Duolingo: Overall score of 95, with no sub-score less than 85
    • Versant: Overall 51, with no component less than 46
    • Smrt: 130-level test with a minimum score of 75%
    • Pearson PTE Academic Scores: 46-55: no component lower than 36-45
    • TOEFL: Overall 68; No score below Reading 18, Writing 20, Speaking 19, Listening 19
    • Oxford Education Pathway & Linguaskill benchmark – B2 (Overall score 170 – 179; no component lower than 160 – 169)
  • Stenberg College entrance informational interview

Language Proficiency Requirements:

English is the language of instruction at Stenberg College. Therefore, all applicants must demonstrate an adequate level of English proficiency to ensure success in their chosen program and courses by meeting one of the following two requirements:

  • Evidence that 3 years of full-time Secondary (Grades 8-12), or 2 years of Post-Secondary education have been completed in English in a country where English is one of the principal languages.  (Language courses cannot be included in this calculation)

OR

  • Submit the results of one of the accepted English language proficiency tests at the score level specific to the program as listed in the admission requirements below.

A transcript can be used as evidence of meeting requirement option 1. Those educated in BC may be able to access transcripts using their personal education number (PEN).  We understand that obtaining a transcript as evidence may prove challenging for some applicants. In such cases, the applicant can complete the English Language Declaration form and outline their education history to validate meeting the requirement.

Upon completion of Stenberg’s Business Program, with an additional 8 months full-time studies at BCIT, you can acquire an Advanced Diploma in one of Canada’s largest business schools, obtaining industry-ready skills and experiences that will prepare you to face the next step in your career

After completing BCIT’s Advanced Diploma in Business Management, students have the option to enroll in BCIT’s Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), earning a degree that emphasizes critical and strategic thinking.
