STENBERG COLLEGE IS OPEN ONLINE
As with all colleges and universities in B.C., Stenberg College is following COVID-19 protocols and has transitioned all in-class programs to online until students, faculty and staff can safely return to the classroom. To learn online, all you need is a computer, an Internet connection and a desire to learn. We have been providing online education since 2006 and are well equipped to deliver quality education in this format.
What does online look like?
- The curriculum offered online is the exact same as the curriculum offered in-class. Classes are delivered in a highly structured, instructor-led, and supported environment.
- You will have weekly deliverables, which may include virtual classes, assigned readings, lectures, engaging resources and activities, discussion forums and online assessments.
- Your instructors will be there for you! They will be available by email, through group discussions, and in your virtual classroom sessions.
- Faculty, staff and Student Success Coordinators are committed to your success and will help you stay on track.
- Your commitment and dedication are required. On average, students spend 20 hours/week attending virtual classes online, plus an additional 10-15 hours/week doing coursework and completing homework.
- Collaboration and group work will be completed entirely online. In your virtual classroom, you will make friends, support and collaborate with classmates, and learn and grow together.
Our online learning is delivered in Moodle, a browser-based learning platform used by most colleges and universities in North America, and through Blackboard Collaborate, a virtual classroom environment. Program Advisors and staff are working offsite and are available to answer your questions and assist you during this period. We hope to see you in our virtual classroom!
